LEARNING LOG WEEK 20

MATH:  For math I did skip counting by 2s and by 10s.  I also added different ways to add to 10.

LANGUAGE ARTS:  I read lots of books to my mom.  I'm getting better at reading.  My favorite book this week is called, "The Red Pen".  In the book a little boy turns into stuff that's funny.  At the start, he turns into a pen. 

SCIENCE:  I made an asteroid.  And there's something called the asteroid belt.  It has many space rocks circling the sun because of the gravity of the sun.  Asteroids are shaped like a rock, they're not perfectly round.

ENGINEERING:  I built some new things with my legos.  Building new things is fun.

SWIMMING:  I missed swimming class because I was sick.  I'll be back next week.

LEARNING LOG WEEK 19

MATH:  I did patterns and adding.  I also counted by 2s.

LANGUAGE ARTS:  I read books called "Get Them!" and "Fox in a Box".  I liked "Get Them!" better.  It has a dog that tried to steal a bun.  I did spelling and handwriting.

SCIENCE:  I learned about how much I would weigh on different planets.  My weight would change, but my size would stay the same.  On bigger planets I would weigh more, and on smaller planets I would weigh less.

ENGINEERING:  I built a car.  It's fun to build things.

SWIMMING:  I swam with my teacher.  I jumped in the pool.  We played London Bridges in the water.

LEARNING LOG WEEK 18

MATH:  I added numbers like 3+3.  I made patterns with shapes.  I added plus 1.  I did skip counting by 2s and 10s. 

LANGUAGE ARTS:  I read new books.  I did spelling.  I played games with pretend eggs that have words that have the -th sound.  I used a spatula and flipped them over.  Then if I got the word right I kept the egg.

SCIENCE:  I learned about the moon.  There's a New Moon.  I call it the nothing moon because it's all dark.  There's the Full Moon.  It's really full and super bright.

ENGINEERING:  I built with my Legos.  I like building new things.

SWIMMING:  I went swimming.  My teacher had me kick my feet.  I jumped into the pool, and I did swim with my arms.

LEARNING LOG WEEK 17

MATH:  For math I colored shapes.  I had lots of fun.  I wrote numbers that came before and after and added plus one.

LANGUAGE ARTS:  I did spelling words.  I read rhyming words.  I crossed out the ones that don't rhyme.  I read some books with my brother.

SCIENCE:  I learned about Mars.  The red sand wasn't what we hoped it would be, but it was still fun to play with.  Learning about Mars was the best part.  We used the rocks to throw at the red sand and make craters.  When they hit, it just creates a giant canyon.

ENGINEERING:  Dad helped me build a boat.  It had people on it.

SWIMMING:  I was sick this week so I wasn't able to go to class.  I'll be back next week.
